Random thoughts

I switched from Wordpress to Blogger for a trial run.  Again, who knows if I'll actually blog, or what I'll blog about if I do, but here's to experimenting.  Cheers. I'm thinking, though, that if I do blog, it will be a wide variety of subjects important to me, though not too wide. I'll probably have some kind of menu to pick from...although I suck really bad at web design.  That's where trusty husband steps in.
My cousin thinks I should do a bird-watching for beginners sight.  Truth is, I've only REALLY been birdwatching 2.5 times. So, I don't know how much insight I would have to offer. But sure, it will go on the menu, along with matters of faith, adventures in newly-wedness, and random thoughts/rants of yours truly.  Of course, these things will all merge into one I am sure. Because I'm a big blob of random.  Good luck hanging onto my scattered thoughts.

What am I doing?

(This post is copied from Wordpress from late February when I originally decided to preblog)...

Good. Question. I dunno. That's the idea of this pre-blog blog.  I've come close to deciding that I want to blog. Which, I guess, is some sort of step. But, then the big decision comes in, (and if you know me, I don't "do" decisions exactly) and that's what to blog about.
I WikiHow'd "How to Blog" and read it for, like, 5 seconds. It said I should come up with a specialization, figure out what I can offer people, you know, stuff like that. Well, I don't have any specializations, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm an incredibly average person which not much insight. Aren't you looking forward to reading this blog?!
Eh, whatever. Here's why I want to blog:
1. I'm hilarious. Just kidding, I'm not. But sometimes I think I am, and I love making people laugh, even if it's usually at my own expense.
2. I like writing and I don't suck at it. Actually I'm pretty decent. I got like the highest score possible on my writing entries on my middle school standardized tests so, I mean...that's a pretty big deal.
3. I like reading other people's blogs. Maybe people will like reading mine...?
So there's WHY I want to blog. But the point of this is post/blog is WHAT DO I BLOG ABOUT? Here's a list of things I like... (Sorry, but also, if you know me, you know that I'm self-conscience and I don't like talking about myself, so I am highly doubting that you give a rat's ass what I like. Omg, just stop reading now I'm getting panicky.)
Ahem...sorry. Anyway....
Things I like:
1. Jesus, the Cross, God, Christianity, you get it. God is why I live and is the blood pumping through my veins. Even if I don't write a "Christian blog", whatever I write about (I can only pray) will have a Christian slant and tone laced throughout it.  I'm constantly inspired by people like C.S. Lewis, Timothy Keller, Watchmen Nee, George Müller, Corrie Ten Boom and countless others who dedicated their lives to the serving the Lord and others. I will never be inspiring or as insightful as them, I promise. That's laughable.
My fears in doing a Christian blog would be that I would offend a lot of people with my foul-mouth, sarcasm and general vulgarity. So...there's that. That, and sometimes I worry that my spiritual insight may be as deep as a puddle.
2. Adventures of being a newly-wed. Indeed. My husband, K (ooo, sounds like Men in Black), have been married almost three years (wtf!), and it's been full of many adventures, both literally and figuratively. I know a lot of people around my age are newly-married, looking to be or are in serious relationships, so this would be relevant. I could give advice, funny stories, and lessons on what not to do. I learned lots of "what not to do's" in my years of experience. Also, stuff like buying houses, shopping on a budget, trying to have the bebés would be included.
3. Animals. OMG. I have an issue with how many pictures I put on Instagram of my pets. And any other animals I find being squishy and cute. Unfortunately, attackofthecute.com is already a site. So, I'm not sure how much I could say about animals that wouldn't be just, really stupid.
4. Teaching. Yup, I'm a teacher. I teach middle school Spanish at a private school here in Columbus, OH. Obviously, I wouldn't talk about specifics i.e. my school, co-workers and teachers. Just methods, activities an anonymous funny stories. I love my students dearly, and can't imagine another career, but I don't think I want to blog about work. Hmmmmm.
5.Travel and culture. The reason I teach Spanish is because I'm enamored by Spanish culture. And really by all culture.  And I love traveling and seeing new sights, experiencing interesting people and going on adventures. I haven't been that many places, unfortunately. Just Mexico a couple of times (Mérida to study abroad and Tijuana for a mission trip), Honduras, Vancouver, Canada, and a bit throughout the U.S. But I like places...I don't know where I'd really go with that on a blog.
6. Throwback blog. I live in the land of my own nostalgia. I get offended when people don't remember things about their childhood, especially when their childhood had to do with my own. Like, when my sister doesn't remember the games that we used to play or theme songs to commercials we would watch, it just really hurts. There must be others like me...somewhere out there...
Omg, did you watch that video? Did you cry? Yeah...I didn't cry either...(lies, I did).
6. Music, movies, etc. I feign musicality.  I can strum the guitar, I can carry a tune, I can read music (All Cows Eat Grass...), I've even written a few songs. I do love music, though. Especially Hanson. Hanson blog coming your way. Just kidding. There are some die-hard fans out there that could deliver way more and better info on the-greatest-band-in-the-world-that-is-still-a-band. Again, because of my nostalgia addiction, mine would probably be like, "Taylor loves red jelly beans...". And that's just not interesting to that many people.
The point is, I like music. It's a huge thing in my family. Could I blog about it? I dunno.
I also like movies. But I probably won't blog about them either. Unless I'm all fired up about one. Which happens. Les Miserables is still killing me softly.
Okay, so the idea of THIS pre-blog blog is that I'm just going to start writing shit and hope I develop a niché. Pre-writing-free-writing. We'll see where this goes. Omg, this is just like a livejournal isn't it? From when I was 16? And wrote way too many personal things on the INTERNET when I didn't realize that EVERYONE could read it...
I can only hope that in my mature age of 27, I have developed a little bit of common sense and a little bit of a filter. We shall hope, we shall see.
